Woof! Instagram has gone to the dogs! Those floppy ears and head tilts are coming for the current internet mascot, those cute fluffy kittens. To secure their internet domination, these nine Instagram dogs will convince you they are cooler than those kittens.
But dogs offer us hoomans so much more than kitten antics and shade!
Feeling stressed? Boring Zoom meeting? Conference call that just won’t end? Skip doomscrolling Twitter; scroll and double-tap through these nine Instagram dog accounts. Seriously, your psyche and blood pressure will thank me.
@harlowandsage – The grand dame of Instagram dogs, Harlow and Sage originally chronicled the adorableness of one Weimaraner and two Miniature Dachshunds. This OG Instagram dog account has added to their family, another adorable dog, Ezra and kitty cat, Malcolm. Not only is the entire family 100% photogenic (no, I’m not jealous, you’re jealous), the hooman behind the camera has an impressive eye for photography, which makes scrolling even more addicting. It looks like you can reeeeaaaaccch into your phone and boop the good doggos all day long.
@damndelicious – Which do I love more? Food or dogs? Good thing I don’t have to choose! I love Chungah’s recipes (Butters and Cartman’s mom), but I delight in the daily InstaStories featuring Butters and Cartman. Apparently I missed the chapter in puppy rearing 101 book where dog mom’s learn how to teach their pups to pose for photos, but these two Corgi’s are ace. Another reason to love this Instagram account is for food recs in Chicago.
@punnypooches – Scout is a Westie and Waffles is a Yorkie. Together, they have tons of puns. No, seriously, this feed is all about the jokes and witty one-liners, so if you’re having a ruff day at work, follow the Punny Pooches for a laugh. It may seem a bit far-fetched that two puppers would be this cute & hilarious, but you’d be barking mad not to follow. Okay, I’ll stop now…
@arnedoodle – Arne was a London pup, but he’s now living it up in L.A. Part Shih Tzu, part Bichon, he’s partially the reason I stay up too late at night scrolling Instagram. His feed is full of vibrant hues and legit has one of the most photogenic faces.
@lifewithleroy – If I had to pick a favorite, it’s probably Leroy. And yeah, it’s definitely because he kinda looks like Moose. Leroy keeps it real and even lets his family (Mom, Dad, human brother, and dog brother and sister) steal the limelight every once in a while. I particularly appreciate the insightful reminders and beautiful life photos during quarantine.
@gusgusinthecity – A French Bulldog and his brother, Gus Gus and Marty, were born for comedy. While I’ve been walking miles and miles and puzzling my way through quarantine, their Instagram feed has me in stitches. If working from home or schooling at home has you needing to laugh (so you don’t throw the computer), I can’t suggest Gus Gus and Marty enough.
@cozmosadventures – Another rescue mutt for the win, Cozmo (a mixed corgi/chihuahua) loves food, coffee, and summertime; two of my favorite things. Cozmo’s Instagram feed is bright and colorful, which is kinda my jam. And I love checking out which places Cozmo loves, my foodie vacation to Cali is planned.
@honeyidressedthepug – Ari is everything a pug should be – food lover, social butterfly, and his mom’s shadow. His mom Maitri is an expert at creating matching outfits with Ari and I gotta say, I wish Moose tolerated accessories. Currently residing in NYC, Maitri and Ari showcase all that is colorful and happy even during quarantine. Instagram bonus? I’ve learned more about making a small space colorful without being “too much”.
@henrythecoloradodog – From backpacking to canyoneering, Henry and Baloo always travel together. If this time of quarantine has you experiencing wanderlust, enjoy the camping adventures of these two rescue animals.
Bonus Instagram Non-Dog Accounts for Dog Moms and Dad’s:
@petallthepuppies – Pet All the Puppies features Pencil the Pup & Tink the Tripod who live just over the bridge from Moose and me in Washington, DC. I classify this Instagram account as sunshine. Cute dogs, funny memes, and shameful photos of dogs in costumes, its smile-inducing from first post.
@woofbowl – a food truck for dogs? What?! The food truck craze may have died down a little bit since their initial appearance on the scene, but I’ve noticed dog-specific food trucks at several dog parks in cities I’ve visited. Washington, DC, is no exception and I definitely feel like we have the coolest one. Started by Ron, a Navy veteran, and Solo, his wife, this pup truck is on its way to LA, NYC, and Atlanta. While you can’t shop their delicious food online, consider buying a dog toy or bandana as a portion of all shop sales profits are donated to various charitable organizations to help dogs and people in need.
@barkbox – If you’ve been around for a while, you know about Moose’s love for his monthly BarkBox. We’ve been customers since 2013. Their Instagram feed features funny dog videos, previews of upcoming new box themes, and photos of people and their dogs. If you’ve ever thought of trying BarkBox and join through my link, please know that the boxes I earn are donated to a shelter dog.
Did I miss one? Of course, I did! Who’s your favorite Instagram dog account to follow?
